Greenbird to showcase Award-Winning Utilihive Digital Integration Hub at DistribuTECH 2020

Oslo, January 13th, 2020

Norwegian IT company, Greenbird Integration Technology will be showcasing its ground-breaking digital integration hub, Utilihive, at the upcoming DistribuTECH event in San Antonio, Texas, (28 – 30 January).

The event marks a milestone for Greenbird as it expands its international presence in the global energy community.

Utilihive has already been chosen by utilities around the world, including in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. It allows utilities to adopt a data mesh or cloud mesh to fully realize the value of their data. Utilihive is an integration platform designed and pre-configured to be the linking layer between systems of record and systems of innovation. It helps to remove data silos and accelerate digital transformation in the organizations where it has been employed.

This is the first time the award-winning technology will be showcased in the U.S.

Greenbird’s CEO, Thorsten Heller said,

“We are really looking forward to our first visit to DistribuTECH. With such a rapidly changing energy landscape, this is an exciting time to be talking to U.S. power utilities. U.S. utilities were early adopters of Smart Meter technology and many are already rolling out second generation meters, paving the way to intelligent grids and Smart Cities.

U.S. Smart Meter penetration is estimated to reach 81% by 2024. The increased volume of data this will bring offers huge opportunities for innovation. But this is only possible if utilities can access ‘good’ data that is freely available within their organization.

This is what our Utilihive technology delivers and we’re looking forward to showcasing how Utilihive has been used by utilities around the world to achieve this.”

What’s Different about Utilihive

Data provisioning has many challenges, some unique to the utilities sector. Utilihive has been developed specifically for power utilities to answer these industry-specific challenges.

Utilihive offers out-of-the-box systems integration. This means integrations can be up and running in days instead of the months that traditional custom coding methods take.

This not only reduces costs for utilities, but also reduces risk, taking integrations out of the critical path.

Award-winning Technology

Greenbird was named by Gartner as a ‘Cool Vendor’ in application architecture, infrastructure and integration due to Utilihive’s domain specific and flexible integration capabilities.

It has also just been listed in the 2020 Global Power and Energy Elites.
