Staff at technology company, Greenbird IT, have chosen to donate Christmas gift money to charity for the fifth year in a row.

The employees unanimously decided that the 25,000 NOK ($2,780 US) which had been earmarked by Greenbird for staff Christmas gifts, should instead be given to the charity, Engineers without Borders.

Frederik ten Sythoff, Greenbird’s Communications and Marketing VP said,

“When one of our software engineers posted the idea of donating the money on our collaboration message board, it was very quickly agreed by all the Greenbird staff. It was a no-brainer to donate the money to such a great charity. They share our passion for helping to make the world a better place.”

Engineers without Borders works with practicing engineers to help them understand the positive impact engineering can have on the world. It also aims to inspire the engineers of the future.

Engineers without Borders support the development of alternative technologies, infrastructure and the advancement of new approaches “to ensure that engineering can be a positive catalyst for change”.
