OSLO, May 23rd , 2018. Norwegian technology company Greenbird and British company, ElectraLink have teamed up in a pilot scheme to improve the flow and transparency of data between energy market companies.
ElectraLink Limited provides data communications and code governance services crucial to the UK gas and electricity markets. Its operation of the Data Transfer Service provides secure industry communication between market participants.
Greenbird Integration Technology is a global software provider, challenging the way utilities approach the smart energy revolution. The company built a platform for ElectraLink using Greenbird’s Metercloud technology.
Metercloud technology delivers big data integrations for utilities as a SaaS model, with out-of-the-box support to enable integration of software operating smart meters and smart grids. With prebuilt Metercloud integration application and connectors, software solutions can be connected and updated in a few days instead of months of custom coding. With Metercloud’s data lake infrastructure Utililake, energy data can be utilized to create smart operational insight for all involved parties in the energy system.
The aim of the pilot was to help British energy companies to capture the valuable data from the retail value chain and create data insights to reduce costs and improve customer outcomes.

The Metercloud platform enables ElectraLink to gain insights into possible outcomes, based on the data received from the Distribution Network Operators, Retailers or other players in the UK energy market. This allows ElectraLink to provide a ‘total process view’ of data enabling these utilities to improve service reliability.
